About Colorado Spirit:
Colorado Spirit, the Weld County Flood Recovery Outreach Team, is a federally funded grant program. Colorado Spirit has been designated by the State of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment as the provider agency for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Crisis Counseling Program, and is a program of North Range Behavioral Health.
Colorado Spirit serves the entire Weld County area affected by the September 2013 flooding through door-to-door outreach to inform survivors about resources available in the community, provide limited in-person crisis counseling, and support them in their flood recovery. They also distribute support brochures, organize educational groups to aid in re-creating a sense of community among affected residents, and make formal presentations educating individuals and groups about support services. The Colorado Spirit team are members of our community and will be doing outreach work until December 2014.
Colorado Spirit is available to meet with flood survivors in a one-on-one setting. Please feel free to call our office, or come to one of our Connect with Colorado Spirit opportunities!
