The Executive Committee is the governing body of Weld Recovers. They manage, control and direct the affairs of the long term recovery group and have authority over the general membership.
Chairman - Dan Dennie with NCMC Banner Health
Dan Dennie is the Director of Business Development for the Banner Health, Northern Colorado area. Dan has over thirty years of healthcare leadership experience. He spent twenty-one years on active duty with the United States Air Force, with assignments at the Presidio of Monterey, California, the Pentagon and the United States Air Force Academy, among others. He has served on the United Way of Weld County Board of Directors for ten of the past eleven years, with two of them as Board Chair.
Project Manager - Sandi Meier with United Way of Weld County
Sandi Meier, has been on staff at United Way of Weld County since 2008 following her work with the Northern Colorado Long Term Recovery Team organized by FEMA after the May 2008 tornados. Mrs. Meier has more than 25 years’ experience in the non-profit sector, having worked for the Weld County Fair, State 4-H Program at Colorado State University and for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Currently a resident of Windsor Sandi has spent her entire adult life in Weld County.
Advocacy Chair – Mike Masto with Red Cross
Crisis Counseling Chair – Debbie Pilch, Colorado Spirit/North Range Behavioral Health
Debbie Pilch is the Chairman of the Crisis Counseling Committee with Weld Recovers and Team Manager for Colorado Spirit. Colorado Spirit is the Crisis Counseling Program team designated by the State of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment as the provider of crisis counseling for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) through federal grant funding. The Weld Colorado Spirit Team is a program of North Range Behavioral Health. Debbie also worked with crisis counseling after the 2008 Northern Colorado tornados. Colorado Spirit will be providing Crisis Counseling in Weld County communities through the remainder of 2014 assisting with long term recovery.
Construction Chair - Leianne Romero, Greelet Area Habitat for Humanity
Leianne Romero, Executive Director of Greeley Area Habitat for Humanity is a transplant to Colorado from Arizona. However, after 20+ years of living in Colorado; she calls Colorado her home. Life is keeping her very busy with her family, husband Kevin and two sons Ryan and Blaine. With oldest out of high school and at UW and in the Wyoming Army National Guard and other son finishing up his freshman year of high school, she finds herself running to keep up.
With 25 years of experience in construction, HR, community relations and customer service, Greeley Area Habitat is a terrific culmination of past experiences into one organization. She has found that all of life’s paths have joined into one, Greeley Habitat. Her faith, her family and Habitat have come together and this is the ultimate destination. Helping build homes, community and hope.
Case Management Chair - George Cummings with Lutheran Disaster Response
George is the Regional Disaster Coordinator for Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountain Region and Lutheran Disaster Response. He has a background in the disaster field for the last 8 years. He has worked in several disasters including helping relocate evacuees affected from Hurricane Katrina/Rita, the tornado in Weld/Larimer counties, and High Park Fire.
Communications Chair - Kelli Johnson with High Plains Library District
Kelli is the Public Information Manager for High Plains Library District. She has a background in Journalism and Public Relations and has been in the Marketing and Communications profession for nearly 15 years. Kelli’s position with HPLD, and familiarity with the Weld County community are beneficial to the communication and dissemination of messages regarding the long-term recovery efforts in Weld County.
Unmet Needs Chair – Bob Hinderaker with Great Western Bank
Bob Hinderaker is the Weld County Market Manager for Great Western Bank and is a United Way volunteer. Bob worked with the long term recovery committee in response to the Windsor tornado.
Volunteer Management Chair – Mike Moore with UMCOR - United Methodists
Mike Moore is the Flood Recovery Director for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) and the Rocky Mountain Conference managing a team of case managers as well as project and volunteer coordinators focused on helping flood survivors in Colorado recover. His background has been in the high-tech industry serving in a variety of marketing and executive positions.
